Claude Levi Strauss

Claude Levi Strass was a French anthropologist he has received many different awards from university's and institutions honouring what he has done in the anthropology field.

Claude Levi Strass believed that all stories are moved forward by conflict. This conflict is caused between the characters and the events within the story itself who oppose each other. He believed that our understanding of a story comes from our understanding of binary opposites within the story.

Binary opposites can be about people and other things also. These are examples:

Male – Female

Positive – Negative

Young – Old

Cold – Hot

Black – White

Good – Evil

Boy – Girl

Strong – Weak

War - Peace
