Disturbia is seen as a disease and this is portrayed throughout Rihanna's music video. this is because throughout she is displaying the symptoms of disturbia. These symptoms are seen as someone going crazy and not being in their own mind. this is portrayed throughout the whole video this is because of the dark colours and the fast paced shots and flashing lights it is clear that this is related to horror in someway.
The dancing and the mise en scene throughout the video is dark and along with the flashing lights this is seen as something sinister and possibly evil. Throughout the whole video there are references to her being held captive. This is shown when she is seen being held behind bars and her hands are restrained with ropes.
